The people we meet - part 1

Thousands of people started on an AT thru-hike this year and some of them we've met. A couple of weirdos and freaks excluded they are all very nice and interesting in a lot of different ways. We posted some pictures in this thread and we will post some more later on. At the end of the trail we will probably compose a ' mugshot book' of pictures of the hikers we've met.


Snuggie; travels with Blisters. Nice guys who we bump in to now and then. They always seem surprised we're right behind 'em.

Blisters

Nipples; he worked 3 jobs for a year and lived in a storage room to be able to do the trailk. He has the cutest giggle and we cant wait to see him again! He actually lived in Damascus for 10 months.

Brian; forgot his trail name but it was something with smoke, and smoke surrounds him 24/7. He's from Jersey and there's no way around it. We love his dancing!

The Rugged Shark; our trail daddy! He named us the Stooges. We hiked with him a couple of days and those days were great. We almost laughed more than we actually hiked. He showed us the snake he painted on his backpack, we showed him a white European one-eyed snake.

Tom; He's from Israel and likes to get up early. We saw him a lot the first month but he's ahead of us now. Too many restdays on our side?

The Pilgrim; we posted a video of this running Irish man before.

Megan; discarded 143 trail names so far so she's still Megan. She walks and lives with Scooner. Awesome people and its always a delight to meet them on the trail.

Roach and Scab; 2 sisters who started out thru-hiking but found themselves being better at yellow blazing. Nice girls, wonder in what town we will see 'em again.

Big balls aka Tiny balls aka Top gun; you might wonder what a kid his age is doing on the trail alone but he's actually 26. Really! - We have checked his pasport. He went off the trail to see some cities in Amerika, he's from the UK.

Chris; we saw him in our starting weeks on the trail but haven't seen him since. Hope he's still out there!

Soundtrack; he sings his way on the trail and plays some kind of flute when camping. Travels with K-bar and Nature.

Highlander; walks in a skirt - uhm kilt - and is moving fast. He wants to be done before August the 3rd. His jobs starts again by then. He just loves soda!

Naneek; We drank a lot of beer with Naneek and he had very interesting stories to tell. He moves fast when hes hiking but if we're not mistaking he's having some quality time with his wife atm. We're pretty sure we will meet him again soon.

Radar; thru-hiked before and started on a section-hike this year but he might do the whole thing again

K-bar; she planned walking the AT with some friends but in the end she started on Springer mountain alone. There she met Nature and they seem to be hiking in the same pace ever since.

Yuki; walked the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostella last year and is thru-hiking this year. For 2010 he's planning a bike ride from Shanghai to Istanbul.

Wrath; He has 7000 miles in his legs and used to be a tree-sitter. At the moment he is hiking the AT to find a portal to a different and probably better world. Elfs, faggots and vampires however give him a hard time finding one. He's hiking on a zero dollar budget and travels from hiker box to hiker box.
